Citicoline 250mg

Citicoline is a nootropic that has a lot of potential as a cognitive booster, but it may also help to reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety. A study in 2021 saw an improvement in both depression and anxiety when citicoline was supplemented [1].

Citicoline may also help to prevent cognitive decline [2] and prevent increases in appetite [3]. Citicoline’s abilities to improve your cognition and its potential to reduce the impact of depression and anxiety make it a smart choice for Hunter Focus.

L-tyrosine 500mg

Tyrosine is an amino acid that is incredibly effective at reducing the impact of stressful situations. When we get stressed, we see a drop in catecholamine levels in the brain, which causes a number of negative effects. L-Tyrosine can restore those catecholamine levels.

This can help you in a number of ways. Firstly, it helps you to feel more relaxed during a stressful time [1], it can help you to fall asleep easier at night [2], and it can also help to improve your impulse control [3]. Which is very important, as when stressed, people tend to make poor decisions particularly when it comes to food choices.

L-Theanine 200mg

Theanine is an amino acid that is proving very popular in the nootropic world. This is due to its ability to relax you without causing you to feel sleepy. A 2019 study found that l-theanine can lower your blood pressure while stressed as well as protecting your cognition [1]. This is really useful, as people often find that getting stressed can affect their judgement and their ability to concentrate.

A 2013 study found that taking l-theanine during stressful times led to a reduction in the perception of stress [2]. With participants seeing fewer stress-related signs and symptoms. Another study in 2019 found that l-theanine use helped to treat insomnia [3]. It does this by relaxing you and lowering anxiety levels.

Theanine is a superb addition to the Hunter Focus formula. It improves cognition, reduces the symptoms of stress, improves your sleep quality, and may help to lower anxiety.

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba 120mg

Gingko biloba is a tree, the leaves of which are used to improve cognition. It has been shown to increase blood flow to the brain [1] which may help explain how it improves cognition. A 2011 study found that gingko supplementation was able to reduce cognitive decline in elderly people [2] and it may be helpful in reducing the impact of Alzheimer’s [3].

There is also evidence that gingko biloba can help to prevent stress-induced rises in blood pressure and cortisol [4]. There is also evidence that gingko can help to improve sleep quality [5], most likely by reducing cortisol.

Spanish Sage

Spanish Sage 4:1 Extract 25mg

Sage has long been looked at for its health benefits, with cognition being one. Spanish sage Salvia Lavandulaefolia appears to be particularly effective in this regard. A 2003 study found that taking Spanish sage improved immediate word recall scores in healthy young volunteers [1].

A more recent study on sage found that supplementation led to significant improvements in working memory and accuracy [2]. Sage may also work as an antidepressant, a 2010 study on rats saw a slight improvement in the symptoms of depression [3]. But, no human studies of note have investigated this benefit.

Spanish sage appears to be a seriously effective nootropic for the improvement of cognition, it may also help with depression but more research is required before we can say for certain.

Lion's Mane Mushroom

Organic Lion’s Mane Mushroom 500mg

Lion’s Mane mushroom is so named due to its distinctive fur-like covering, and it is used in Asia as a medicine and culinary ingredient. There are two main benefits to lion’s mane mushrooms that justify its inclusion in Hunter Focus.

Firstly, it appears to help boost cognition, particularly in older people [1]. Secondly, it has been shown to help reduce anxiety and irritation [2], and may be effective in the treatment of depression. Lion’s mane can help you to focus better at work while also improving your mood and reducing the effects of stress and anxiety, an excellent ingredient.

Maritime Pine Bark

Maritime Pine Bark Extract 75mg

Maritime pine trees grow in the Mediterranean as well as parts of North Africa. The bark extract has shown promising signs of helping with conditions such as asthma and hypertension. It is also being looked at for its ability to improve blood flow.

A 2018 study found that maritime pine bark extract could help to improve cognition during an 8 week trial. There is also evidence that it can improve cognitive function, mental performance, and attention in people who have oxidative stress. An earlier study (2014) found similar results in healthy professionals aged 35-55.

Bacopa Monnieri 300mg

Bacopa monnieri is a herb that grows in marshland, it is popular in Ayurvedic medicine, where it is used to improve memory. A 2001 study found that bacopa monnieri supplementation led to increased cognition and improved memory [1]. A 2014 study found that bacopa monnieri can increase alertness and reduce cortisol levels [2].

There is also evidence from a 2020 study that bacopa monnieri can help to reduce anhedonia, the inability to feel joy (a common symptom of depression) [3]. Interestingly, the benefits of bacopa monnieri appear to extend to young people as well as the elderly. Making it a great nootropic ingredient for everyone.

Rhodiola Rosea

Rhodiola Rosea Extract 50mg

Rhodiola Rosea is a plant that is used in herbal medicine to reduce fatigue and improve mood. A 2009 study found that rhodiola rosea supplementation was able to reduce fatigue in healthy people after just one week of use [1]. There is also evidence that it can help to lower cortisol levels while increasing alertness [2].

It may also be effective at improving sexual performance by lowering stress and reducing anxiety [3]. A review of the literature published in 2022 found that Rhodiola Rosea supplementation was able to reduce stress, lower fatigue, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve mental and physical performance [4].

If you are stressed and anxious then Rhodiola rosea extract may be the ideal supplement ingredient for you!
